1. Light Requirements
• Prefers bright, indirect light.
• Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves.
• Can tolerate lower light but may grow slower.
2. Watering
• Keep soil evenly moist but not soggy.
• Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil feel dry.
• Use filtered or distilled water if possible, as it’s sensitive to chemicals in tap water.
• Reduce watering in winter.
Pro Tip: Utilize bottom watering when possible to reduce the probability of overwatering! Trust me, your plants will be much happier!
3. Humidity & Temperature
• High humidity (60-80%) is ideal. Use a humidifier, pebble tray, or mist occasionally.
• Prefers warm temperatures (65-80°F / 18-27°C).
• Avoid drafts, sudden temperature changes, and cold below 55°F (13°C).
4. Soil
• Use a well-draining, airy mix:
• 50% potting mix
• 10% perlite
• 15% LECA for more airflow
• 25% orchid bark or coco coir
• Adding activated charcoal helps prevent root rot.
5. Fertilizing
• Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer (diluted to half strength) every 2-4 weeks during spring and summer.
• Reduce feeding in fall and winter.
6. Potting & Repotting
• Repot every 1-2 years or when roots outgrow the pot.
• Use a pot with drainage holes to prevent root rot.
7. Propagation
• Best propagated through rhizome division during repotting.
• Carefully separate offsets and plant them in fresh soil.
8. Common Issues & Solutions
Yellowing Leaves
• Overwatering or poor drainage. Let soil dry slightly before watering.
Crispy or Browning Edges
• Low humidity or underwatering. Increase humidity.
Drooping Leaves
• May be thirsty or adjusting to new conditions. Ensure proper watering.
